Ride Concepts have taken their popular Helion flat pedal shoe and evolved it for those of you who prefer your mountain biking to be clipped in. As with the flat pedal version, this clipped in model carries on with the lightweight microfibre upper. This gives you a snug and comfortable shoe that's mighty tough but results in their lightest clip-in, all-mountain shoe too. Meanwhile, an anti-bacterial mesh lining keeps feet fresh, ride after ride.
Anti-abrasion toe and heel protection keep your feet insulated against the ever-present knocks and scrapes of mountain biking. There's also a fully gusseted tongue to fend off debris kicked up off your tyres.
When it comes to fit, it's hard to beat the lightweight simplicity and all-weather reliability of the lace-up design. Ride Concepts have added an elastic lace-tuck to prevent laces from getting caught where they shouldn't be and a hook and loop strap adds extra security.
Clip In Performance
Moving to the sole unit, this features a wide cleat box to let you stomp into your pedals without needing to waste time feeling for your engagement point. The 42mm cleat adjustment length also lets you get your cleat position just right for any clip-in pedal system. The RC PowerDrive nylon shank ensures optimal drive as you accelerate out of berms and fly along singletrack while an EVA midsole gives you the reassurance of additional support and shock absorption over rough terrain.
The CLIP GRIP rubber outsole with hexagon tread pattern also offers a safe and confidence-inspiring grip on both the dirt and on pedal bodies (even when you're not yet clipped in). So whether on the bike, hiking or digging a new trail feature, you'll always feel secure.
These shoes are compatible with MTB pedal systems, which use the 2-bolt cleat standard (SPD standard), e.g.: Shimano SPD, Time ATAC, CrankBrothers, CrankBrothers Race, Look MTB, Xtreme MTB, Wellgo MTB, Ritchey MTB
